Vodacom Service disappointments

On 29 March 2016 my fiancé’s phone did a system update. During the update the phone shut down but itself. Afterwards the phone booted up to a certain point and crashes. So I took the phone to Vodacom Menlyn for repairs on 30 March. On 9 April I got a message that the phone can not be repaired and it was sent to the Advanced Repair Centre (job no.: ***3). 13 April I got a message stating that the phone is at the Quality Assessment Process (that is where the phone is tested for workmanship right?). A couple of hours later I got a message that the phone was despatched from the Advance Repair Centre.

14 April at 13:25 I received a message: Job number ***3 us ready for collection at Vodacom Repairs Menlyn...
I arrived at Menlyn 15:00. Sorry, no phone, I must come back in 15 minutes time. 15 minutes later, no phone! I told the lady, I’m running a company, I do not have time waiting for the phone after they send me a message that the phone was ready for collection. I told her Vodacom will deliver the phone to me because I’m very busy and can not run to Menlyn every-time they send me a message to collect the phone. Sorry, she just want to inform me that the phone is beyond economical repair anyway.

Since then my fiancé posted 2 complaints on Hellopeter.com (‘Unrepaired phone LOST!!!’ and ‘Missing Phone’) with no feedback from Vodacom. The phone is being missing since then.

Over the past 14+ years I’ve spend close to, if not over R145,000.00 at Vodacom, this is not the type of service I expect. This is my second problem with Vodacom in 6 months time, I’m still waiting for my Data breakdown report. Yes, Vodacom did give me a R3500 discount on a R7900 data account, but until today I still don’t know if it was even my fault!

I went to Vodacom The Grove today to get the cancellation letters for all my contracts, sorry, they can not help me, I must phone ***, phone the number, the guy gave me a settlement amount over the phone of R17,000 for the phone, still waiting for the letters to be mailed.

I want Vodacom to send me cancellation letters with settlement amounts for all my accounts at Vodacom (3), I’m moving to another service supplier. I’m fed up with Vodacom.
