Vodacom sells faulty outdated equipment
This has been a horrible start to what I had been looking forward to for a very long time and the concern from Vodacom regarding my issue is appalling. I signed up for a an LTE uncapped wifi contract with Vodacom in the Sanlam Centre, Empangeni on 09/07/2022 I received my router and sim which were paid for and activated in store. Upon my arrival at home the connection worked perfectly for an hour and that was the end of the wifi signal, the Alcatel router they supp**** me was faulty and was no longer broadcasting a wifi signal after an hour of use despite the signal being 100% fine as I was still getting good speeds using my mobile data. On the 10/07/2022 I returned to the Vodacom dealer who performed diagnostics on my router and confirmed the fault ,I was then told that the device cannot be replaced despite it being a day old which makes no sense at all the agent also confirmed in store that the version of router I was supp**** is an old model, instead of making this right I've been told to wait a period of up to 3weeks while the router goes for repairs with NO INTERNET that has been paid for and they told me they couldn't offer any sort of compensation for this breach of contract on their end supplying faulty equipment.
If I had know this is how Vodacom does their business I would've stuck to using my mobile phone ,now I'm faced with the cost of purchasing more mobile data for work purposes and paying for a wifi that is not even working.
If you're looking for good customer service and concern from your provider ,try your luck with MTN or Telkom.
