Vodacom ************

I tried to do an upgrade at the Vodacom store today as Vodacom had called me in October to inform me that I was due for an upgrade in January. To my surprise, the vodacom employee who assisted me stated that I cannot upgrade today and would have to wait until March as I had already done an upgrade in November. I recalled that I received a call from someone (now believed to be a third party who works alongside Vodacom) in November who told me that they could see that I was not using my sms bundles and offered to transfer them to minutes unstead, to which I agreed. At no point was I made aware of the strings attached. The Vodacom employee told me that apparently they have had numerous complaints from customers about such incidents recently. She advised us to call their call centre to have them reverse the ********** upgrade. After holding the line for about an hour, we finally got through to a consultant who said that she'd reverse it but that we would have to wait 72 hours for head office to authorize the reversal. I am extremely disappointed with this experience and cannot believe that there are third parties who have access to our Vodacom contracts/accounts/personal details. These are ************ calling customers, manipulating them into upgrading without really explaining the fine print. I feel like I was ****med by a trusted brand who I have supported for many years. I need this reversal done immediately or I will cancel my contract and go to another provider.

Oh and I forgot to mention that they opened my line without my permission. There is no cap on my data or airtime. If that is not a ****, then what is?
