Vodacom ****?

Did a port of my number. I hadn't even used my phone yet other than to call Vodacom to activate. I noticed my airtime was missing about R50. I send an SMS to see if I had been subscribed to any premium services. Reply: You are not subscribed to any services.

But when I check my billing I was subscribed to 6 premium services. The agent at the call centre tells me only I could have subscribed but I hadn't even used the phone yet.

There are too many people complaining about WASP's and premium services yet Vodacom can't prevent this from happening. Reason: they make money off of it. I would not advise anyone to subscribe to Vodacom.

The ONLY response from Vodacom was the above business has responded message. Since then I have been subscribed to an additional 12 vlive subscriptions that I never subscribed too. Terrible service by Vodacom. Really pathetic.

Still no call from Vodacom to tell me how this is possible. Phoned the call centre and the call I logged on Monday was closed but they haven't resolved anything yet. Have escalated a new call.

Dear Richard,

We are sorry to hear of the circumstances under which your Hellopeter posting has reached us and we do apologise for the inconvenience caused. We thank you for bringing the matter to our attention.

Please note that the VLIVE services were subscribed days after your port took effect, it can only be subscribed through the device itself, some of the services were for Real Time News,Cooking lessons, Lifestyle and Fashion etc. It may even be subscribed while on the Internet.

Your previous query has been resolved through cancelling all subscriptions and the number was credited with R100 Airtime, I have also credited a R20 for the last subscriptions.

Regards,
Vodacom Consumer Website Team

Best regards,

Hi Vodacom website team. You have refunded the money and cancelled the subscriptions. But this is only part of the problem. I still need to know how this happens. Your standard reply is it happens through the device and a website. I would need to be subscribed to vlive to make the subscriptions and I was not even subscribed to vlive. Also if you look at my browsing history I will see that I wasn't browsing at all. This did not happen from my device. If you do a quick browse of the internet you will see many people complaining about the same thing. We are not all idiots. There is something wrong on your systems.
