Vodacom ****
Well, how many of you are still using Vodacom network? How do you survive?
I have a contract iphone 6s+ with Vodacom. Late last year, it started given me problems with the menu bar and mute buttons. Innocently, I took it to Vodacom in Mafikeng. I was asked if I have an insurance for it, I gladly said YES. I was told my phone will be sent away. Meantime, I was given a courtesy phone. After some few days, I was called and given reasons that the phone warranty expired, and that it would not be repaired.
I was told that I had 2 options. Either I pay 20% of the new phone of my choice, or I pay R900 for a second hand like for like phone.
I HAD A PROBLEM WITH BOTH THIS OPTIONS, THEY HAD ONE THING IN COMMON, AT THE END OF THE DAY I SHALL PAY. I then requested a detailed technical report outlining whether problems of the menu bar and mute buttons is as a result of the end user(myself), or whether it is as a result of defects by supplier. I told them that should the problem be as a result of the end user(based on facts by technical report), I would gladly decide which option am I gonna choose, but should it be as a result of factory fault, I shall NOT be paying even a cent.
My phone was returned to Vodacom shop in Mafikeng because Vodacom does not repair phones after warranty had expired.
I am still paying Vodacom(contractual amount) monthly WITHOUT a cellphone.
I CANNOT wait April 2018 when my contract with VODACOM **** comes to an end.
April 2018, I shall be advising my Friends who intend signing cellphone contracts with Vodacom about my experience.
