Vodacom... SAs most *********** network (FTTH)

I app**** for a Vodacom FTTH via the Vuma network on 26 Nov via the Vodacom website. After following up today (14 Dec) for an installation date, I am told that this is still in a pending status. I was requested to follow up with Vuma as the site was not ready and they confirmed that they will not be deploying at our complex as it is locked to Vodacom self build only.

Im going to put aside the fact that you are selling a product which is not available and get to the bigger issue and background leading to my frustration: 1. Vodacom rolled out a self build network in my complex which has been active for 2 years. 2. In the recent months, Vuma has been listed as a provider on every ISP including Vodacom. 3. After unsuccessfully getting access from other ISPs I have contacted the Vodacom person responsible for our site who confirmed that they have agreed to a shared network and we can sign up for either Vuma or Vodacom self build packages through Vodacom. 4. Following this, I signed up through the Vodacom website for the Vuma package and was routed to the call center agent who completed the order. 5. Today, upon follow up, I am told by Vuma that two networks cannot exist on the complex network and they have no plans to rollout. The Vodacom rep who earlier advised me otherwise, now states the same.

I am completely baffled by how pathetic Vodacom is as a service provider to firstly not know what the state of there network is after confirming this several times prior to ordering. Secondly, I cant understand why this product is even an option to sign up for, even today...

At this point, should I have even had an expectation that someone would have followed up with me to let me know that this service was not available and was nowhere on the roadmap. I'd like to think that Vodacom has SLAs in place, and would have proactively let me know that they could not fulfill the order and let me know I should change packages to self build so that I'm not waiting indefinitely. Clearly my expectations are too high from the self proclaimed best network. I'm hoping someone competent will take over this case and one day in the near future I may actually get a service, but until then, I'll just sit here with hopes and dreams
