Vodacom SA - RewardsCo disaster
I was called for an upgrade on the 06/06/2024 or 07/06/2024 and the lady offered me the same contract i currently have but the monthly cost would have gone down with a few rands. I was then also advised that they will be sending a free wireless speaker that’s part of this upgrade promotion.
On the 27th of June my debit order for Vodacom went off on my account for R300 more than usual and i called them to find out what was going on.
In short this was due to my original contract’s 24 months that ended and thus the reduced subscription fee has fallen away, but this should have been only for the one month seeing as the upgrade would take affect the in the new month.
So, as I was talking to the lady, she mentioned the new contract amount would be over R850 as well and this came as a shock seeing as the agreement, I had on the upgrade call 06/06 or 06/07 was for R558 or something around that amount. I then had to fight with Vodacom on this and I had to request the call recording.
After multiple calls from my side, I was informed that the lady made a mistake and that they need to collect the speaker from me to reverse the contract that was issued from their side seeing as this was incorrect.
I spoke to the Manager on the 1st of July and was told they can only reverse the upgrade once the speaker is received, and she will book the collection with RAM and call me back. On Tuesday RAM called me to collect and I advised them I don’t have the speaker on me seeing as the manager never called me back and no one informed me when the collection would be, On Wednesday RAM called me after I already left the office for the day, and I told them to collect Thursday before we close.
Yesterday (Thursday) RAM never pitched up to collect and I tired calling the driver multiple times (I called the number that called me the previous two days)
I even left the parcel with someone at our office seeing as they had to stay late. They advised me RAM never pitched up.
Today is Friday and I had to call Vodacom to ask what’s going on and I was advised that RAM said the parcel was not ready yesterday . . . . . . . . really??
So here I am needing to constantly call Vodacom to sort out this issue that was to no fault from my end . . . . . . and still no call from the Vodacom manager This is extremely pathetic and now I will be overbilled by Vodacom for another month until I can get the correct upgrade sorted.
