Vodacom SA – Repeated Harassment Over Alleged Overdue Account Despite Proof of Payment

Vodacom SA – Repeated Harassment Over Alleged Overdue Account Despite Proof of Payment

I am extremely frustrated with Vodacom SA’s continued handling of my account and the repeated calls alleging that I have overdue payments, despite the documentation available to me indicating that my account is up to date.

I have repeatedly attempted to resolve this matter and have provided proof of payment via email. Instead of properly investigating and reconciling the account, I continue to be bombarded with automated/robotic calls and calls from call-centre agents accusing me of having an overdue account.

What makes this particularly concerning is that I make my payments through the VodaPay App. I can provide proof of a payment made on 25 August 2026. However, this payment does not appear to be reflected correctly on the account statement/app, despite the fact that I have valid proof that the payment was made.

I have already submitted proof of payment to Vodacom and have requested that this matter be investigated and resolved. Yet I have received no communication and satisfactory confirmation that the payment has been traced, allocated and the account reconciled.

Instead, the collection calls simply continue.

The manner in which some of the call-centre agents have dealt with the matter has also been disappointing. Rather than assisting me in investigating the discrepancy, I have experienced an accusatory and, at times, rude approach. I should not have to repeatedly defend myself against allegations of non-payment when I have supp**** proof of payment and when Vodacom should be able to investigate a payment made through its own payment platform.

This is no longer simply an account query. The repeated calls, despite my attempts to resolve the matter and the proof already provided, have become unacceptable and feel like harassment.

I require Vodacom to:

1. Conduct a proper reconciliation of my account, including tracing and allocating the payment made via VodaPay on 25 August 2026.

2. Provide me with a written explanation of why this payment is not correctly reflected on my account despite having been successfully made through VodaPay.

3. Confirm in writing the actual status and balance of my account after the reconciliation.

4. Immediately stop automated and call-centre collection calls relating to amounts that are disputed and currently being investigated.

5. Confirm that no adverse credit information, collection action, service restriction or other negative action has been or will be taken against me as a result of an incorrectly allocated or unrecorded payment.

6. Review the numerous previous communications and proofs of payment I have already submitted instead of requiring me to repeatedly explain the same issue to different agents.

I have made every reasonable effort to resolve this directly with Vodacom. I have paid my account, retained my proof of payment, submitted the documentation requested and repeatedly engaged with Vodacom.

What I need now is not another call-centre agent telling me that the system says I owe money. I need someone with the authority and ability to investigate the account, reconcile the payment history and resolve the underlying problem.

Please escalate this matter to the appropriate accounts/billing department and provide me with a written resolution.

I have the relevant statements, invoices, proof of payment dated 25 August 2026 and previous correspondence available to substantiate this complaint.

My preferred method of communication is EMAIL. Please don't an agent to call me. Please communicate with me via EMAIL.
