Vodacom S3 Router not supporting line speeds higher than 100 Mbps
I have a 250/250 Mbps fiber line prescription with Vodacom and I have been experiencing only 94Mbps line tests on LAN for a while now. Thinking it was my old DELL computer, I saved up and bought a new top end computer. No luck, still 94 Mbps. After much research I found that the Vodacom S3 router LAN ports are limited to Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) speeds, not Gigabit. This means that while the router supports LTE for internet connectivity, any wired device connected via its LAN ports will max out at 100 Mbps. When I logged a call to Vodacom they asked me to take photos of the speed test which I did. Now they are playing a mail game asking for photos at different times even asking me to stand closer to the router (on a LAN speed test, really). And every mail asking for more photos takes 24 hours because they only respond to my mails the following day. One would expect a company that deals with so much technology to know that the router they are supplying is not compatible with the line speed they sold me, how difficult can it be to accept your mistake and rectify the issue.
