Vodacom's ****ty Customer Service

So this is my story:

My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge broke, and we are insured with Vodacom Insurance.

2 - 3 Weeks ago we took the phone to Vodaom Shop Eastgate to have it reapired. After two weeks of not hearing anything, we went back to find out they Hadn't managed to process it yet.

One of the Ladies in the red shirts, Carmen, then had it quickly processed and told us that the phone was unfixable and that it's discontinued (This was on Monday, 8 May). The result was that we needed to decide what phone we wanted, and then go back to the Vodacom shop to get a quote for the Insurance Excess. Carmen told us that we could go to any Vodacom shop.

Yesturday (Tuesday, 9 May) i drove all the way from Pretoria to Vodaworld Midrand to get the whole thing sorted.

At Vodaworld Midrand, where we spent about 2 hours waiting to be seen and also waiting for the vodacom insurance to answer, they then told us that Vodacom shop Eastgate had alrerady ordered the Galaxy S7 edge and that they would need to cancel it. After waiting a further half hour, the insurance informed the lady that according to their records we had already collected the new S7 Edge. Which was impossible since we still had the damaged S6 in our possession.

She then told us we need to drive all the way to Eastgate to sort it out.

We then spent another half hour waiting at Eastgate before we were seen to. At this point, we tried to explain what the lady at Vodaworld Midrand had said, but we were told that we are overcompliacting it and that they must just call Insurance.

Upon getting hold of insurance again, they told us that before we can proceed they need to cancel the order or quote that was requested by Vodacom Midrand (which is exactly what Vodaworld Midrand told us needed to happen at Eastgate). At this point we just told them to cancel it and sort the issue out so that we could leave with the new phone. They then told us we need to come back today (10 May) to sort that out.

This is after driving 80km to 2 different vodacoms, having to take half a day off of work. And so we complained and said that it's not right how we have been treated.

At that point, the man helping us went to speak to someone else, who obviously couldn't help him.

He proceeded to throw his hands in the air, say something about knock off time and then walked out the shop. We waited at his table for 15 minutes to see if he was coming back. Surely he wouldn't just leave us sitting at his table?

At about 17:50, after waiting for about 15 minutes, we realised that he had just left for the day.

And so we asked for his name and left. His name is Bandile.

I woke up yesturday thinking that i would get my new phone from insurnace, and i had every intention of taking up a new contract for the Tab S2. But after the disgusting way we were treated, i can't imagine why we would want to stay with Vodacom?

We drove 80km to two different Vodacoms, having to take half a day off work. We spend a total of about 6 hours sitting in a vodacom, and we had even less of an idea what was going on than before the day had even started.

It was disgraceful and unacceptable. Up until date, this issue still has not been resolved.
