VODACOM'S LACK OF SERVICE
Vodacom has taken over our 2 cell phone contracts from Nashua Mobile in December 2014. I have a debit order instructing them to deduct the monthly costs from my credit card. In January there was a problem with the payment which was because of the takeover. In June we had smse from them that the account is unpaid. I contacted them, the details were correct and made arrangements to resubmit for payment. Our cell phones were suspended. The service was then restored after I phoned them and explained that they would do a resubmission. A week ago I received a sms that the account is in arrears. As I was out of town I phoned Vodacom on 17 July. I queried both cell phones, one was paid, one was overdue, yet the details on debit order is the same and correct. I decided to do an EFT, but by the time I wanted to do the payment, my service was suspended. I couldn't do an EFT as I had to add Vodacom to my beneficiaries and receive an OTP on suspended cell. I paid the outstanding amount at the bank on 18 July. Phoned them at 11:07, were advised that the service would be back on between 1-2 hours. Now 17:00 - no connection 6 hours later. A frustration!!
