Vodacom's Inability to Supply a Requested Service

In an attempt to have my mobile phone contract with Vodacom updated with correct address details as well as have the contract amended to reflect the correct name, Vodacom have failed dismally. This process took close on 5 months to complete and at the date(2017-02-14) of submitting this review is still sorted out. After been pushed from pillar to post with the correct channels to follow, having this simple task complete and after suppling all the correct documents as stipulated by Vodacom, as it seems to me that all the individual departments in an organisation of Vodacom's magnitude have no clue as to what to do or what their role is the entirety of Vodacom’s organization. Prime example, the details provided as the process that must be followed by instore employees is so contradictory as to what the exact same process should be by the customer call centre.

After numerous calls and time spent waiting for customer services and been promised timeframes for completion along status notification that never ever arrived, for what in my mind is a very simple task, I then stipulated via a recorded phone call on Vodacom’s behalf, on numerous occasions that I will not pay my account until rectified. At no point did I say that I will not settle by bill in full, yet the level of incompetence at Vodacom that is now clear to me that I don’t thinks they will ever manage to rectify my contract.

In the interim, my contract has been suspended due to lack of payment, I am in full agreement that one should uphold the terms of an agreement, however if you think about it, my contract was suspended due to a lack me not upholding my end of the bargain, however why should I uphold my end if Vodacom cannot perform a simple task for a customer of almost 15 years, don’t you think it should be good business practice to keep a clean record of all your customers details that concise and up to date. If they can’t do this then how the hell do they actually perform the RICA – FICA.

This is clearly indicating to me that Vodacom do not actually take customer service into consideration as it is at the end of the day the customers that pay their salaries and rather just collect cash and fill the coffers of the board irrespective of the quality of service that is provided, along with the terrible network reception. Instead of sending me a sms stating that you have notice you have dropped calls, get the network sorted.
