Vodacom's after sales repair service is a waste of time

I live and work in the States for 10 months a year, but I still have a Vodacom contract that I pay diligently every month and I don't use the airtime during this period that I'm overseas. The sole purpose of this contract is to use it when I come home for 2 months a year to see my family . When I arrived from the states three weeks ago my contract phone could pick up wifi but not pick up the network unless I'm very close to a tower. So I took it to my closest Vodacom dealer who couldn't help me and sent me to a Vodacare center in canal walk. They took my phone as it is still under 2 year warranty, kept me updated on the progress and a week later told me to come collect it. At no time did they inform me that they couldn't repair the phone, this I found out when I got to the Vodacare shop. The reason they had for not repairing it was moisture damage, so I was a little irate for not being advice beforehand but I said thank you and left. Then I did some research online of how to see if an LG G3 has moisture damage. There is one dot on the inside of the phone and one on the battery. If they are red then there has been moisture in the phone if they are white then no moisture is present. Mine are both white and no moisture is present. Vodacom takes my money every month for a contract that I use for 2 month's a year and then uses an excuse to not repair a phone that's still within warranty. So basically they take money without offering any service, it's really the best business plan I've ever heard of.
