VODACOM - ROAMING DEEP IN PEOPLES POCKETS

After taking out 2 contracts with Vodacom N1 CIty - delivery of the second handset arrived a week later. I spoke to the consultant and was informed that we need to speak to the owner. It was agreed that we would get one month free. After the 24months had lapsed, we failed to inform Vodacom that we did not want the contracts to continue - the contracts had ended in May 2017. I the contacted Vodacom customer care and told them that we wanted to cancel the contracts but needed an email address - which was given to me by their consultant. I then sent the email instructing the contracts to end effectively immediately and this was in July 2017. In September 2017, I received an email from Vodacom with a statement showing that we owe them over R1000. I called in again and did not dispute that we owed them but how is it possible that in July I sent cancellation instructions but September I get a statement of well over R1000. The consultant then stated that he would sort it out. About a month ago I received a sms - Letter of demand for +R1500 for the outstanding monies owed to Vodacom. There was no procedure followed from Vodacom at all. And when I called into their call centre, I was informed that in September of last year, the full amount of +R1000 was written off. So my question is - WTH am I being billed for if the amount was written off???? Vodacom you should get your accounts in order and stop harrasing people who pay their accounts. Its enough that there are so many people unemployed to still rip people off for no reason.
