Vodacom rips off 85 year old

I am Ronald Dennis Forbes, ID no ***. I am 85 years old, and feel very bad for having been ********** by Vodacom. 2 years ago I had 3 accounts with Vodacom, which was going to reach its end. I wanted to upgrade to a data only contract for R300. I wanted the other two contracts which had expired to be cancelled. Eventually only one of the contracts was cancelled and in February this year (2025) I contacted Vodacom because of the R75 contract, which i didn't request, but was put on my name. It was cancelled then. Because I could no longer afford even the remaining contract of 150 Gigs on number ***, even though the contract only expired at the end of July, I nevertheless contacted Cancellations at Vodacom in good faith to ask for assistance. The person i spoke to seemed very nice. He said he could see that I now live with my son so he will give me a package that would only cost R207 per month, AND that I could cancel at any time. I confirmed a few times that I would be able to cancel at any time, and that it was not a new contract, and I was assured that it wasn't an upgrade. I was promised that the new tariff would start at the end of March. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. I have been paying the R300+ amount still. In essence what I was offered never came to light. And when I wanted to cancel the contract at the end of July, I was told that I had done an upgrade in February and that I cannot cancel the contract without paying for the remainder of the 24 months! THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I called Vodacom for help, as I cannot afford to pay the R300+ amount, and also because I don't need it, as I now live with my son so I don't need this contract. I feel Vodacom and its employees are out to do people in. the person I spoke to **** to me, and then upgraded my account without my permission. He mislead me into thinking he was helping, but in fact he was actually *****ing from me by upgrading when I could ill afford it. "All calls are recorded." So go back and check out the call, and fix this problem. I do not want this contract. I want it cancelled with immediate effect.
