Vodacom Ripoff

I have been with Vodacom for years and years; I renewed a contract for 2 years in December and opted to move to a red-flexi plan. This is the first time in many years I have airtime instead of just minutes..... Checked on 1 January and money is in. Checked on 4 January, R6 left, and I have made 2 calls. Went to Sanctuary Mall in Somerset West and discovered a "Content Services" subscription called dotry, was taking money every day.... never heard of dotry, can't find them online... zilch, yet they are able to ***** money from me. With Vodacom’s approval and assistance. The lady who assisted me was not super helpful or friendly, but she knew to press *135*997# immediately. Obviously, something encountered before. She can't tell me anything about dotry or how long it has been trying to take airtime from me, basically she "couldn't" tell me anything except to cancel this subscription I have never heard of or consciously signed up for in the first place. Vodacom shrugs their shoulders and puts the onus right on the client and while I am willing to take some blame (I have no idea how this got there though) they sure make it SUPER easy for scoundrels to ***** money. One ponders how much money is actually being siphoned from unsuspecting and unwary loyal customers in this way?

*135*997# is your friend; have a look if you are a Vodacom client.

Hey Vodacom, be a mensch and send your clients at least a SMS when they “sign” up for Content Services….
