Vodacom Repairs Lost My Phone now
I am sooooo frustrated with Vodacom Repairs! My phone (iPhone 6) was sent to Vodacom Repairs Centre in Somerset in January around the 14 or so (not entirely sure about the dates). The phone is insured with Vodacom and a claim was made to the insurance. Early February on the 4th I was told to pay an excess fee of R450. After weeks of no communication I called them to check when I will receive the device. I was sent pillar to post with no clear response. In March I was then told that my device was lost. I was then given a pre-owned iPhone 6S as a “replacement” device but told them the phone they lost was insured therefore the replacement had to go through that process. And that if the phone is lost then I must get a new device as a replacement. They put a claim through to the insurance and tell me that they no longer have the iPhone 6 and only have iPhone X and 12; so they are offering an alternative brand since my insurance is R7000. I tell them I want an iPhone brand nothing else. They told me they will sort it out. This week I was told that I will be getting the iPhone 7 with the value R5399. My problem here is that they lost my phone and now I am paying for it through my insurance and they aren’t liable for anything. A viable solution here is for them to claim the insurance money yes and pay excess for an iPhone with a value higher than the insurance money. Because this is what happens when when a customer loses a phone they become liable for excess amount. But in this case they lost the phone not me. I am now told to take it or leave it. I feel insulted. I have waited for 5 months for this issue to be sorted.
