Vodacom Repairs - Greenacres Port Elizabeth Delays
Took my Honor phone which is under warranty for repairs at the Vodacom Repairs Shop at Greenacres Port Elizabeth store. The phone only had a speaker issue which needed to be looked into and fixed. The initial turnaround time I was given was 3 to 4 days if the phone can be fixed without needing an extra part, but if a part is needed, I was advised it might take a maximum of two weeks due to the parts being in backorder. The phone needed a part which was ordered by the repairs shop. I expected a 2-week delay as advised, but now the issue has escalated to the delays extending and passing the 2-week turnaround time given. I do follow ups, and the staff keep advising the same thing "still waiting for the part ordered", I'm not sure if this is even true at this moment. My temporary phone I was using with my phone number so that they can contact me on has also bailed on me and I have no backup phone to use. I explained the situation to the staff on the phone and she did not even want to take an alternative number of mine where they can contact me on when the phone is ready for collection (I was really shocked by this). She told me they can't change anything on the job card and even the alternative number to contact customer on. So, I don't know if they expect me to be calling them every day to find out if my phone is ready or not?? I did not expect this kind of foul service from Vodacom Repairs shop, I expected better and I will not recommend anyone taking their phone for repairs at this shop or brand. They don't know anything about customer excellence or making alternatives for a customer when an unexpected issue arises. I even asked the staff if there is no way to escalate the matter, and they said NO! Still shocked and traumatized, I still haven't received my phone and stuck without a phone.
