Vodacom Repairs

Good day,

I took a note10 lite with Vodacom few months ago and in the month of December the super charge decided not to work anymore. I then took it to Vodacom Mall@Redds on the 15th of December and they checked my phone with my charger and didn't work and they checked with their charger and didn't work either and I was then told that the problem is not the charger but the phone itself. The guy who was assisting the suggested that since Centurion Vodacom has repairs inside the shop it will be quick for me to get my phone back because the Mall@Redds store will send it to hatfield repairs. I then took his advice and went to Centurion mall on the 18th of December to book my phone for repairs. I explained to the guy who was assisting me that I went to Mall@Reds and they advise I come to Centurion and they check the charger and their charger. Then the guy booked my phone in and when he assessed my phone there was no scratches as my phone had a screen protector which was removed when I booked it in and I then left with my charger and other accessories.

On Tuesday the 21st of December 2020 I got a call from Centurion repairs requesting that I must bring my charger, since I already left for holidays I then went back to Centurion on the 4th of January 2021, when I arrived my call was closed without being notified. They then booked it again and got a new reference number. When I got the screen protector was back on my phone and when they took it off my phone had a scratch which was not there when I first booked it in and the lady only made a comment to say the client says the scratch was not there when it was initially booked and could see she didn't want Vodacom to take responsibility of that scratch. I even told her she must go and check the original paper that indicate if there are any damages to the phone and she was not keen. I then made note on that paper to say they must check the initial form when it was checked in and left.

I went back on the 11th of January and I was told that they are waiting for the parts that they will use to repair my phone. I then told then that I already lost 3 days of work since I'm using my phone to login to my work and only then I was offered a courtesy phone and when I was offered a courtesy the guy started by saying the only had a small Huawei, then I requested him to check if it will install the software I'm using at work and it was not compatible and he went and took out Huawei honor which installed the app and the left. On the 13th of January I got an sms that my phone has been sent for advanced repairs and to date nothing has been communicated. Meaning its over a month now paying for something that is not working.
