I purchased a Huawei Mate XS2 512GB on the 09 November 2022.

I only started using the device in December 2022. During the time of using this device I have noticed a few faults with it however having a new device and I use my phone for work I could not book it for repairs.

I’m March 2023 the phone stared giving me a lot of issues where the phone stared freezing, display was hazy, touch was not responding at times, application activating on its own. The phone while opening and closing the screen it gets jammed sometime will open while in my pocket.

I booked the phone in April 2023 and was sent to Vodacom repairs in Umhlanga Durban. Upon receiving the device there was only a software update done on the phone and nothing else was repaired.

There was no report of the opening and closing fault on the device.

When I collected my phone the Engineer report was blank.

I needed my phone so I advised I will take the phone and use it and it seems the phone is getting worse.

I rebooked the phone in on 12 June and was sent to Vodacom repairs in Umhlanga and they have sent the phone to ARC which is repaired and sent back to the store.

According to the repair centre the repair was complete and sent back to the store.

Upon recieving the device, the device was returned in a very bad condition. The original screen protector which is an anti reflection nano optical layer was removed from the phone which was not supposed to be taken out. When I purchased the device I was advised by the Manufacturer.

The workmen ship on the repair of the device has chip marks and you can see the back cover was not put in propely, there is marks the edges of the back cover looks like digging marks.

The screen on the phone was not clean and there has a sticky substance on it. I have photos of the the device when it was returned.

I re-booked the phone today and sent it to the repair centre.

I am a really disappointed customer who purchased a R40k device and I’m unable to used it. I am going to have this phone for a while and I don’t want to have issues with it. My phone is only 7 months old. As I mentioned above this phone is used for work and my personal use. I'm unable to function without my phone as I work from home and that’s my on source of communication.

Please assist me.

Kind Regards

Janine Evette Dodgen
