Vodacom refusing to cancel contract despite ongoing issues

Hello Hello Peter Team,

I am lodging a complaint regarding Vodacom and the complete lack of assistance I have received despite multiple escalations, including to the Vodacom CEO’s office.

I have a brand new iPhone 17, now just over a month old, which has had endless issues from day one. I reported the problems immediately and requested cancellation, as the device and service have never worked as promised.

Despite numerous follow-ups and written communication, Vodacom appears to be deliberately delaying or refusing to cancel my contract. I receive vague responses, service requests are closed without resolution, and I still have no clear written confirmation that my contract is cancelled, penalty-free, or that refunds will be processed.

This has been incredibly frustrating and stressful. I am now pleading for someone senior — above the CEO’s office if necessary — to intervene and resolve this matter properly.

Vodacom’s customer service has been unacceptable, and I feel completely ignored as a paying customer.

I would appreciate Hello Peter's assistance in escalating this matter so that Vodacom finally takes accountability.

This response is not acceptable.

I have already made multiple attempts to resolve this matter via Vodacom support channels, including direct contact with Head Office and the Executive Office.
To date, no consultant has taken ownership or provided a definitive response, and my service request was closed without resolution. Advising that “a consultant will make contact in due course” is vague and does not address the substance or urgency of my complaint. I require clear, written confirmation, not another delay or generic holding response. Please confirm today:
  • Who is assigned to this matter
  • When I will be contacted
  • That my complaint has been escalated to a senior consultant or Legal for resolution
If Vodacom is unable or unwilling to provide a timely and substantive response, I will proceed with escalation to ICASA and the relevant consumer protection authorities. I expect a concrete update, not a template reply.
