Vodacom refusing to cancel contract

I tried to cancel my Vodacom contract today but instead of them cancelling it, I got a consultant trying to retain my contract by offering me another deal. It is ******* to refuse to cancel a contract once it has come to an end. I have still not received confirmation of cancellation.
