VODACOM REFUSES WRITTEN CANCELLATION & DATA TRANSFERS

Vodacom demands that customers must call in to cancel a contract, which is a breach of the contract's T's & C's and of which I would have no proof of cancellation should it not be in writing. The standard Vodacom contract clearly requires WRITTEN cancellation in Clause 4... https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/contract-terms-and-conditions

The National Consumer Commission also confirms that you cannot demand verbal notification https://www.thencc.gov.za/contacts

Vodacom also refuses to transfer data to another Vodacom nr as per END-USER AND SUBSCRIBER SERVICE CHARTER AMENDMENT REGULATIONS IN TERMS OF SECTION 4 READ WITH SECTION 69(3) OF THE ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS ACT NO. 36 OF 2005, AS AMENDED.

It is law! Here is the GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, 12 FEBRUARY 2019 No 42225 https://www.gov.za/sites/default/files/gcis_document/***rg10911gon128.pdf 4.5 Regulation 8B of the Regulations is hereby amended by the substitution for sub-regulation (4) of the following sub-regulation: “(4) A Licensee must provide an end-user with an option to transfer data to other end-users utilising services of the same Electronic Communications Service licensee. ” You can confirm this with ICASA on *** or https://www.icasa.org.za/pages/contact-us

Vodacom is charging me R1049/m for my cell, of which the contract expired January 2019. Yet on prepaid I would pay R632 for the same amount of minutes (as the contract), and should not have any issues to transfer data from my data bundle. A renewed contract without a handset would cost me R699/m.

By the way, an MTN contract of R999 (R50 cheaper than what I am paying) offers 4.5 times more bundled minutes and 8.5 times more anytime data!

Is there any reason or benefit remaining with Vodacom after so many years?

TO VODACOM DIRECTORS:
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS? Please?

80 000 PLUS (that is 80 thousand) reviews are written here on HelloPeter about Vodacom only.
And the TRUST INDEX for those 80 thousand PLUS reviews is ONLY 2.3 OUT OF 10

That means that 80 000 of your customers rate you 2.3 out of 10?
Is that acceptable to you; and what you strive towards?

How many thousands of Vodacom customers do not know of HelloPeter, or have not yet logged a complain? NOT YET that is. I can assure you, Mr/Ms Director, that it takes an enormous amount of frustration before any consumer seeks help from HelloPeter or ICASA or the Consumer Council (CPA).

Vodacom, your customer care (should it be DON'T CARE?) as well as the outsourcing company dealing with cancelations have received my email instruction to terminate my cell phone contract (which expired January 2019).
SR Number:***

This communication merely serves as a publicly served open letter to Vodacom as proof of the cancelation. I expect my cell nr to be on "prepaid" from 1 October as per the emailed cancelation notice.

Your SMS
"Please contact *** for contract cancellation,"
will therfore be disregarded as it has zero validity pertaining to the Terms and Conditions of the contract.
