Vodacom refuses to stop debiting my account after cancelling contract
I have been a client of Vodacom since I have had a cell phone (almost 20 years) and I am appalled by the service I have received! One of the reasons being that about 3 years ago they incorrectly debited almost R10 000 from my account ... which I have not been reimbursed for. At the beginning of 2020 I decided to cancel my Vodacom account. This was met with promises of a more competitive package to try to keep me as a client but did not materialize. Finally in August I decided to cancel my account. But apparently cancelling my account with Vodacom is not possible. I have continued to be debited and had to call in 4 times to actually have my account cancelled! Every time I have called I received sincerest apologies, and have to repeat my entire story to every single consultant that I speak to! What a waste of my time! The last consultant I spoke to at the beginning of December (Liam Marone) promised to have this personally sorted out. He escalated the matter apparently via his supervisor, and indicated that within 5 days my contract would be cancelled and I would be reimbursed for the months that I had continued to pay on my cancelled contract. By mid December (and in fact to date) I had still not received any communication from Vodacom...I then made contact with the call Centre again only to find out that the matter had NOT been escalated! When speaking to Liam - he says the he had done what he was meant to do (despite the fact that i was not delivered the service requested) ... and his supervisor (who I had asked to speak to) is not allowed to speak to me - as apparently VODACOM has a policy of not allowing managers to speak to clients? How ***ardly that a person in management position can not be held accountable...and leaves their poor call center agents to deal with incompetence of their systems! I am more than livered - and am expecting to get debited again this month. I need this matter sorted out or I will take legal action against Vodacom. ***)
