Vodacom refuses to respond to my complaint
On 10/02/16 I submitted a complaint to Vodacom after which a reply was received that a consultant would contact me regarding my complaint. Seven days later I have had no response at all from Vodacom. My complaint was the following:<br> I realised with a shock that I have been paying R14 per day for two subscriptions to services which I have no knowledge about and to which I did not subscribe, for Everly and for Mydownload. I reported this to Vodacom who subsequently cancelled the subscriptions, but in the meantime I have been paying huge amounts every month (Jan R433.98; Dec R440.97; Nov R307.98, etc). I asked the concultant whether the charges could be reversed, but he could not help me. According to an article in Mail & Guardian Vodacom implemented a double-opt system whereby it is impossible to subscribe to such a service unless you specifically agree to the terms. This never happened to me and I definitely DID NOT choose any such subscription as I am always alert for spam. In other words, this was allowed by Vodacom without my knowledge and therefore I am of the opinion that Vodacom needs to refund me all the costs for these services since it started in June 2015.
