Vodacom refuses to fix handset due to supposed water damage.

Vodaphone Grand Prime 7, my girlfriend is using this phone since i bought a dual sim phone for my contract sim, and want to use another sim simultaneously. She was chatting with the phone in her hand in the bedroom when the phone died. As in no display. Tried to charge, tried to plug into lapto to no avail.

Gave phone in for repair since according to the box it has 2y warranty. Was texted all very nicely all the way to advanced repairs in JHB, and now have a quote of almost R900 due to water damage. The phone never has been near water, and as soon as it gets back im taking it to a independant place and paying for a report and then sending it to vodacom. Since water damage is the easyiest thing in the world to say why a headset died.
