Vodacom Refuses to Exchange Phone Incorrectly Supp****

I app**** for an upgrade on my contract on 25 November 2022 and requested the Samsung A52s 5g, as it was advertised as having a hybrid SIM slot and being able to accommodate two SIM cards. Unfortunately, when the phone was delivered on 7 December 2022, I discovered that it could only hold one SIM card.

I contacted Vodacom on 18 December 2022, within the 14-day return period, to inquire about the issue. Despite my explaining that the SIM tray could not hold a second SIM card, I was told that it could and provided with a link to a video on how to insert a second SIM. I was also asked if the phone had an additional SIM tray, which it does not. I was then advised to visit my local Vodacom store for assistance, but upon doing so, I was told that the SIM tray indeed could not hold a second SIM card.

As I have no use for a phone that can only hold one SIM card, and I upgraded my contract on the understanding that the Samsung A52s could hold two SIM cards, I am now faced with the prospect of paying a 75% early cancellation fee if I wish to obtain a phone that meets my needs. This is unacceptable, as the error was Vodacom's, not mine.

I have been a customer of Vodacom since October 1996, and I am disappointed in the service I have received in this regard. I hope that we can find a resolution that is fair to both parties.

I am not satisfied with the response I received from the Social team. I explained to them that the phone I ordered was supposed to have a hybrid sim slot and be able to take two SIM cards or 1 sim card and 1 memory card. They provided me with a link to a video on how to insert a second SIM card, even though the phone cannot accommodate a second SIM card. They even directed me to my local Vodacom store, where it was confirmed that the phone is not able to hold two SIM cards. The only reason I ordered this particular phone was because it was advertised as being able to hold two SIM cards, but since it can only hold one, it is not useful to me as I have two Vodacom cards that I frequently use. With this phone I will not be able to use both sim cards and will not be able to use the minutes and data of 1 of the cards. I raised this issue within the 14-day period after receiving the phone. I should not have to pay for a phone that does not meet the specifications that were advertised. I do not consider this issue to be resolved and I would like a senior person to handle this situation and provide a solution to the problem. Secondly I'm still waiting for my new sim card on my other number (that is a new line) that was never delivered to me. I'm still waiting since November 2022 for the card.

Vodacom just on their own decides that the issue has been resolved where it hasn't. It is clear now that Vodacom doesn't care about customer service.
