Vodacom Refuses to Cancel Contracts Despite Repeated Requests

I am compelled to share my frustrating experience with Vodacom regarding my attempts to cancel my account. Since May 2024, I have faced continuous billing despite assurances that my account would transition to prepaid status after one final month's bill. My account was confirmed as cancelled effective August 31, 2024, yet I still receive bills under the same contract.

Vodacom's shift away from formal written communication has made it nearly impossible to track my inquiries and the responses from customer service. Each time I contacted them, representatives focused on selling me additional products rather than addressing my urgent cancellation request. This unprofessional approach has only added to my frustration.

I have contacted Vodacom multiple times through email and HelloPeter, specifically on the following dates: * October 7, 2024: Email requesting written communication regarding my cancellation. * November 13, 2024: Email expressing my dissatisfaction and requesting call logs. * November 8, 2024: HelloPeter review outlining my ongoing issues. The only time I receive any reply is through HelloPeter, which I suppose forces them to respond. However, the replies I get are generic and not tailored to my specific issues. Given that Vodacom has burned me before due to verbal communications that were not followed up, I must insist that all correspondence regarding this matter be conducted in writing.

As a result of this ongoing issue, I now have a bad rating on my credit score, which is deeply concerning. I urgently request that you retrieve the call logs associated with my account and provide the recordings without delay. This information is essential for substantiating my repeated cancellation attempts. Additionally, I expect written confirmation that my account balance is zero.

Please note that I do not wish to communicate telephonically; all correspondence must be in writing. My cell number is ***.

This entire experience has been distressing and highlights a significant lack of accountability within Vodacom. It is unacceptable that after months of effort, I still have no resolution or proper communication. I expect a prompt and comprehensive written response addressing all of my concerns. Let me know if you need any further changes!
