Vodacom refuses to cancel contract!!!

Vodacom has the worst cancellation system ever!!! My dads contract was cancelled in November but to date he is still being billed for it. We have to reverse the debit orders each time and are being charged additional fees due to the incompetence of the staff at Vodacom.

Should Vodacom not resolve this in the next 2 weeks then i will have no option but to resort to laying a complaint with the Ombudsman

This contract was due to be cancelled on 08.12.2020
My dad called the call centre on 08.11.2020 as he was told that he must call a month in advance to cancel. When he did call, the consultant advised him to call on 08.12.2020 to request a cancellation. To his understanding the cancellation was supposed to have been done on 08.12.2020 so the device was not used for the month of December. the contract was fulfilled and payments were done successfully. The last debit was supposed to have gone off end of November and the contract was supposed to have been over. When the consultant called me about a week back he seemed very unprofessional as everything he said was that he has to check with his colleague. Could he not have gotten this person to call me instead of going back and forth. The unfortunate thing with you service providers is that its all about making money. You do not advise your customers accordingly. Sometimes the client may not ask certain questions but it is your duty as the service provider to educate us on your policy and procedures. The last bill of R174.99 should never have been done. So please explain to me, how does a contract that was initially +-R300 go down to R175 in the last month or so. Something does not add up.
