Vodacom Refunds Department - Incorrectly Debiting my Account yet running away from refunding me - Bad service !!!
On the 3rd of Dec after calling Vodacom to check why my incorrect Debit order amount went off (More than usual and after account cancellation on the 1st Dec ), I was instruction to email the refunds department.
MY EMAIL READ: I just got off the phone with the contact centre and they advise that I need to email for an incorrect debit order that went off.
I cancelled my account I390.... & the last direct debit of R458.99 was on 01 Nov 2024. I was then incorrectly debited on 01 Dec 2024 for the amount of R618.33. Please may may I have a refund to the following account details: Mr ...... Bank ....... Account no: ...... Branch code: ........ Amount: R618.99
ON THE 9TH DEC (6 DAYS LATER) I RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING EMAIL FROM GUGU REFUNDS DEPARTMENT: Good day. Thank you for your email enquiry. Please note that this division does not handle cancellation queries. The amount debited was for the invoice generated in November 2024. Please contact cancellations department on 082135 for the dispute as this division is unable to assist with the above query. Kind regards Gugu
AFTER THE ABOVE I EMAIL GUGU: Gugu did you read the email I sent? This is not a cancelation, or cancelation query. This is a REFUND REQUEST for incorrect debit order done on my account. The instruction to email you to process my refund, for incorrect debit order came directly from Vodacom! You are welcome to go back to the telephonic voice recording on 3rd Dec 2024. I expect my money back by the end of this week, 13 Dec 2024. Your refund process takes up to 7 working days. This is more than enough time. Should my money not reflect in my account by this week Friday, I wish you the best of luck while I will take this matter further. Thanks.
DESPITE MY THREATS, I STILL RECEIVED correspondence from Gugu - Refunds Department telling me that the account was billed correctly and that I had to contact cancellations - TOTAL DISREGARD TO MY QUERY OR REQUEST. Even after explaining to her AGAIN that I originally contacted the cancellations department and they instructed me to email Refunds because my account was incorrectly debited, she kept at it. No phone calls and not alluding to my instructions in my email.
Once again I lastly told her that I am done doing the email dance with her, my email below: Exactly...... This was an incorrect Invoice/Debit done by the cancelations department! The instruction to email you to process my refund, for incorrect debit order came directly from Vodacom cancelations department! Why should I contact them again, after they have instructed me to send the original email to you/refunds department because they incorrectly invoiced/debited my account. You are welcome to go back to the telephonic voice recording on 3rd Dec 2024. I am not doing this "email dance" with you Gugu! Should my money not reflect in my account by tomorrow, as previously mentioned I will take this matter further. Cheers.
EVEN AFTER THE ABOVE EMAIL I STILL RECEIVE THE BELOW UNPROFESSIONAL RESPONSE FROM DEAREST GUGU, ON THE 17th DEC !: Good day. Thank you for your email. Please be advised that we have forwarded your query to cancellations department as on our side we are unable to assist. Reference number is ***. Kind regards. Gugu
I mean really now! Is this how Vodacom make their money. I am sure most people do not even check this so called last debit order. Thankfully I checked, and thankfully Vodacom admitted to incorrectly debiting my account. Most thankful that I no longer have any contracts with this company ! ! ! And I haven't even gotten started on the poor service regarding my trying to cancel my contract - That's a whole other BAD REVIEW!
