14 Jan 2022, 22:49 This is a story that they might be interested in. I had a week from hell trying to get my phone delivered by Ram. They kept delivering at 9th street instead of 9th Avenue, the drivers show-up at the wrong address, they didn't call prior to the delivery, they are not allowed to wait longer than 5 minutes apparently all because of crime and fear of getting hijacked. When they get to the wrong address, they have to return the parcel back to Ram's warehouse and it must go back to the back of the queue. Then they must send an email to Vodacom and wait for a reply whenever and however long it takes, Vodacom on the other hand has a backlog of emails. When you call their call centre, no one has the next person's telephone number, they cannot directly escalate to their line managers, they are all working from home, communication is limited to email and wait. my drama started with an agent called Joseph who incorrectly captured my address as a street intead of an avenue and their system at upgrade communicated this incorrect address to Ram and RAM are still waiting for Joseph to correct his error on his side but Joseph does not only suck at his job, he has also being sent emails to contact which he has not. So Ram is now keeping my phone in their warehouse, when the spirit moves them they might return it to Vodacom as an unsuccessful delivery and they will get paid for doing nothing and they have wasted their money in unnecessary reverse logistics and costs and trips, words like lack of professionalism and inefficiency. As if this was not enough I am not able to have the Istore or Vodashops load a new upgrade order on their side because the Vodacom order needs to be cancelled first by, you've guessed, it Joseph who is now ducking and diving, because the current order can only be cancelled when the device has been returned, it does not look they will return it any time soon and until then there is nothing that anyone can do because this is the process plus there is no way to override the system and cancel the current upgrade order. Management does not respond to the escalation emails sent by the agents and consultants. I wonder if Vodacom executive management is aware of what's happening on the floor because even the Team leader, Tertius could not help, he is also waiting like all of us for someone to respond to one of the many emails that have been sent. Keith did apologise but I am sick and tired of apologies, and excuses, I need solutions but I am told that the only solution is to wait and wait and wait.....RAM is now responding to me via the post on Hellopeter, they have also apologised and promised that my phone will be delivered 3 days ago, their last response says that the parcel was delivered at 9th street but the driver said I was not there, obviously I was not being I was waiting at 9th Avenue, every day I wait, I am not able to move on the off chance that the driver finally gets the correct address but does not find me and then after 5 minutes he has to leave because that's what? Yes, that's the process! The effing process! He did not call to notify me, I got an SMS to which I cannot respond, I cannot speak to him to tell him that he is going to a wrong address again....but I must just wait, that's all I can do, thank you very much!! Oh RAM's phone does get answered but you will be made to wait and wait the moment you ask to speak to the manager, in fact you will be put on hold indefinitely because an email has to be sent and hope that a manager responds and then agent will read back to you what the manager says. After this horror, I would appreciate it if this phone was for free but even then I am not sure if I still want it, I have lost interest in it altogether, it carries such bad memories I will not enjoy it, it will remind me of this drama. My mental health, my family has been affected negatively by this, it was meant to be a surprise gift for my partner but now instead he has been trying with me to get it sorted. Something that was supposed to be a romantic gesture has turned into a day week long nightmare, ayiyo movie, yi film
