Vodacom putting me in a very bad spot, costing me time and money

A few weeks ago I phoned the Vodacom upgrade dept as I was due for an upgrade and needed to upgrade fairly urgently. I explained to the consultant that I could get a better deal from MTN and she said it would be sad if I left Vodacom after all these years being a customer. She said she will keep me up to date with a possible upgrade after I was willing to consider extending business with Vodacom. I did not hear anything back from her and ended up calling Vodacom numerous times. I spoke with several consultants that assured me that she would get back to me. Not a single one was speaking the truth as I have yet to hear from her as this was on 26 November 2016. This cost me a lot of time and it is really unacceptable as the consultants can see exactly how many calls I made and how long I spend on the phone trying to resolve this issue.

After no response from Vodacom I tried settling my contract with Vodacom as MTN approved a contract for me that would have saved me a lot of money over the next 2 years. Vodacom were not willing to release my number even after I was willing to settle the remaining 2 months on my contract. This is pretty shocking after they were not willing to assist me themselves and simply not getting back to me. I would really like to know what Vodacom suggest I do. They put me a spot where I cannot port my number to MTN for some reason (after I wanted to settle my contract) neither do they get back to me on upgrading with them.

Vodacom also said they will contact me regarding this after I reported it on hellopeter and to no surprise I have yet to hear a single word from them.

Still waiting for Vodacom to respond. I phoned their upgrade dept again and spoke with Andries a supervisor who assured me that he would phone me back that same day (7th of December) regarding this issue. It is now four days later and I have heard nothing from Andries.
