VODACOM PUTS FALSE INFORMATION ON THEIR UPGRADE PACKAGES
I received notification from Vodacom that my cellphone contract was due for an upgrade. With the notification, I received a link to Vodacom’s website where I could go and do my upgrade. The package which I selected was called the RED CORE 500MB 50min and stated that I I got a Samsung Galaxy A52s cellphone with 2GB anytime data + 500MB night owl data, 300 airtime minutes and 150sms’s plus a promotional 20GB data for 30 days however, once I had done the upgrade, the sms which Vodacom sent to me confirming the upgrade stated that I only got the Samsung Galaxy A52s cellphone with 500MB of data and 50min of airtime.
On doing the upgrade, I selected a package which suited my requirements and cost perfectly however, once I had done the upgrade, I received an sms message from Vodacom stating that my upgrade was successful however, the package for data and airtime which I received on the confirmation sms was different to the one that Vodacom advertised on their website. On querying this with Vodacom, their excuse was that they had made a mistake.
I don’t believe that a large corporate company like Vodacom makes this sort of mistake and believe that it was a deliberate ploy to try and entice customers to take a package and then once the contract had been agreed to, the customer was then unable to get out of the package.
