Vodacom providing false information to upgrade
Vodacom Sales Person from the Rewards Retention Department called me and gave false and misleading information in order for me to upgrade two of my contracts. Firstly, she told me that due to some clause I still need to pay 14 months on a contract that came to an end on the 30th of March 2022 and secondly she told me that I can transfer benefits from one contract to another on my Vodacom App.
I was very reluctant to proceed with the upgrades since I wanted to cancel these contracts in the first place, I proceeded with the upgrades due to the fact that I can transfer benefits.
The very next day I found out that you can't transfer benefits from one account to another and contact Vodacom to cancel the upgrades.
Monday, 31 October 2022, I called to follow up on the cancellations, then Vodacom told me that it is not reflecting on their system yet and that it takes time for the cancellation, since they need to escalate it, I should call later.
Today, 3 November 2022, I called Vodacom again to follow up. Nothing can be picked up from the system about any cancellation. I had to call 4 times, every time, I am getting directed to another department or number.
I would like to request the recording of the phone call where the lady mislead me by giving me false information in order for me to upgrade. No luck with getting the recording either.
The Cancelation Department said I must call the Rewards Retention Department, the Rewards Retention Department said I must call Customer Care, Customer Care said I must call my nearest Vodacom Branch. - Really.....
I have been a Vodacom Client for 26 years, but I think it is time to move on.
