Vodacom provide a platform for 3rd party affiliates to ****** their trusting customers. MOBITEACH
WASPs will be the downfall of this company. THe class action lawsuit coming from Noseweek has been a long time coming, you guys will lose. YOU have been knowingly deceiving customers by creating adverts that are purposefully deceptive in that someone might click it, just to see what its about.
Mobiteach - a "service provider" based in THAILAND. *** vodacom why are you letting these offs**** companies you your network to take people money. "Oh, but its not money - its airtime". Weird because when i change money to airtime all i can do is make calls and get data but when one of these companies receives my "airtime" they can convert it back into real money??? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE.
Little do they know they have "inadvertently" (words used by a vodacom support agent) subscribed for a service that could cost anywhere bet 5 and R45 a DAY. They will receive one vague notification that informs of the subscription.
From what I understand, Vodacom is actively advertising and aggressively promoting these WASPs on their native website. Thereafter, Vodacom think it acceptable to notify someone once and then proceed to charge them between 5 and R45 a day
Over 6 months (for example) this value becomes anywhere between R1500 and R5400, conducted through over 180 daily transactions.
Now this is the kicker for me: Vodacom thinks its perfectly acceptable to enter someone into an agreement that consists of over 180 transactions by giving them ONE notification that doesnt mention what you are being charged but rather that you have "Subscribed" to some thing.
Final point: You give a bank money and they are obligated to notify you EVERY SINGLE TIME a transaction is made. A R1 bank fee will show up on your account no matter what it was for. They have to account for where its going and tell you about it. HOWEVER, when you take that same money, convert it into "Airtime" Vodacom think its fair game to reduce the balance of said airtime without even so much as suggesting to the customer that money might be leaving their account. I have no memory of signing up to this thing and over the course of the last 6 months it has leeched about R7 a day (A vodacom person didnt tell me this, i had to work it out from the airtime i had been blindly redepositing whenever my airtime balance reached zero, little did i know that the airtime balance was always zero because of these charges.
Its snide and despicable to think that because the REAL MONEY is now in "airtime" it si treated differently to how a bank is expected to treat real money deposits. In reality both hold the same "value". ****** and *****
