VODACOM: PROBABLE ********** TRANSACTION BY VODACOM EMPLOYEE

VODACOM: PROBABLE ********** TRANSACTION BY VODACOM EMPLOYEE

Wednesday 16 Sep CANDACE phones me from Vodacom and tells me that the contract for the number *** expired during June 2020 and that she wants to help me with an upgrade. This number was mentioned several times during the conversation of more than 20 minutes. She upgraded the contract to You choose flexi R175. She knew everything about my other contracts with Vodacom. She told me that a parcel with a complimentary product to be used by learners/students will be delivered by RAM Couriers. She also told me that I will be able to cancel the contract if I wish to do that. During our conversation I told her that I do not want to handle contracts over the phone and want everything in writing. She then told me that I will receive everything in writing which did not happen. These agents usually bombard you with so much options and possibilities when phoning that is almost impossible to understand everything they say. (She phoned from *** which I later phoned just to hear that it is the number of a place called Rewards Sales)

Wednesday 23 September 2020 RAM Couriers deliver an envelope and at 17h10 I receive an sms from Vodacom regarding the number *** informing me that everything is finalised. I immediately phone Client Services to tell them that the cell number is wrong. A lady then told me that a new contract has been opened on my name. She wants me to start a Dispute but I tell her that I want to cancel the contract since I never wanted a new contract nor gave Vodacom OR CANDACE permission to open a new contract. She put me through to the cancellation department where I spoke to a man called something like Shalen from approximately 17h50. He kept me busy for a while and then PROMISED me that he will phone me back in 10 minutes. I twice asked him what I have to do if he does not phone me back. He again promised me he WILL phone me back BEFORE 18h20.

Of course he did not phone me back.

Wednesday 23 September 18h30 I again phone Client Services and speak to a very helpful lady called Nobile. She told me that the cancellation department closes at 18h00. (This means that SHALEN deliberately **** to me when he told me that he will phone me back.) She promised me that she will have her Team Leader to call me back. 20h20 Kgomotso phoned me. I again explained everything and he said he will listen to the recording of my conversation with CANDACE.

It is now Saturday 26 September 19h27 and of course I did not hear anything from Kgomotso.

Jopie Koen *** I have several contracts on my name at Vodacom and have been a Vodacom client since I bought my very first cell phone about 35 years ago. To be treated like this is not what one would expect from – in your company’s own words – ‘SA’s best network’.
