Vodacom Premature Cancellation Problems
I requested a premature cancellation quotation from Vodacom retentions on the 11th of June 2018. I was then sent the cancellation quote with reference number 1- ********** ********** . I paid the full amount as per the quotation of just over R13000. I then followed up with the cancellation/retention department 2 working days later and they confirmed that the money was reflecting and that the “back office guys” will only cancel the contract and move my number over to prepaid at the end of June. A couple of days later, I received a normal statement and invoice email. I then phoned again just to double check that the cancellation will go through to avoid any nasty surprises. The lady assured me that the process will be done at the end of the month and I made double sure by confirming with her that the last debit order to cover that months usage would go off, and that that would be the end of it. I mentioned to them over and over that I am leaving the country and that it must be finalised. I then left SA on the 20th of June. I realised after the normal debit order cycle, that no payment has been deducted, and due to jot setting up raoming on my number, as that would just be ridiculous as it is suppos to be prepaid by now, there was no sure way of checking if everything has been done accordingly. I then phoned retentions department again on the 28th of June where a gentleman sent me a sms with ref no 1- ********** ********** , and that the matter has been escalated to their specialist consultants. I waited a while and then to my surprise I received my invoices and statement email. Vodacom was suppos to close my account as it was clear it was a pr mature cancellation quotation and payment, but no, as I strangely expected the worst , they are now deducting my monthly instalments and usage from the 13k I eft’d to their account as if I have paid my account in advance. If the person of Vodacom is reading this, you better phone me as soon as possible and not on my SA number as I would be charged R150 per minute on my expense and you better rectify this matter as soon as possible. If you want my Overseas number you can email me on ********** , where you can contact me with your direct email and I will gladly send my mobil number to you where you can phone me on your company’s expense. This is the ****** least you *********** bunch can do. I never had any issues with Vodacom and loved the service I always received, but looks like I am oly good for it, when I am on board for years.
Please don’t ask for my Vodacom number as you guys can easily see who I am from looking up under my reference numbers as mentioned in this message.
I am eagerly awaiting for your email.
