Vodacom Poor Service at a (Red) Premium

I have recently experienced poor service from Vodacom from getting conned into a contract migration to "Red Premium "that was set to reduce my bill (but increased it). However, Today's in-store experience at the Vodacom4u store in the The Zone at Rosebank was the last straw. I have been a Vodacom customer for over 10 years and I will explore opportunities to cancel my contract and migrate to another MNO as soon as possible.

I was made to wait 30 mins for a "Manager" to facilitate a refund on a R599 Galaxy S7 cover. When the manager "Helda" eventually availed herself, she began with "the next time you buy something, don't open it..." and immediately stopped talking when I advised that the conversation is being recorded. I had to make it clear to Helda, that the Consumer Protection Act requires that buyer's remorse allows me to obtain a refund within 7 days of purchase.

I would not recommend Vodacom to anyone and will strongly advise that you stay far away from them. If you're with another MNO do NOT consider leaving them. If you are with Vodacom, now is a good time to consider migrating. The entire customer service experience is poor (at best) and does not justify their premium rates. In fact, I will advocate for friends and family to migrate to another MNO.
