Vodacom Poor service allround

Right where to start, after 13 years in the prepaid wildernis, I finally decided to go with Vodacom's offer of 100GB/100GB @R299 contract over 24 months.

Now I've been on prepaid since my sequestration, contract was approved without hassle, that is where the bull**** started, sorry lack of a better word.

Issue One, Vodacom advertises that they will deliver an online deal anywhere in borders South Africa, well apparently living on a farm in the Free State in not anywhere in the borders of South Africa.

Issue Two, You try getting a hold of someone in management at Vodacom, they the managers hide behind the ill equipped call center agents & their ever worst chat bot TOBI. I finally got some decent response via the Business Center but on Facebook Messenger, some phone me, she was "helpful". I actually asked her to call me back it was election day and i was going in to vote. This is all after the first failed attempt at delivery. Where I changed my delivery address numerous times to the farm address & not my home address where my wife & son live & that I call home. OK this lady was helpful, she promises to rearrange delivery to the farm.

Over the weekend I had time to think, as I realised no one at Vodacom in their call center was honest enough to tell me sorry sir you realize you could change your prepaid tariff to prepaid lte from the bonus pack for better data rates. So it's all about the money, not customer service for Vodacom.

I sent the Business team a Facebook messenger message to just cancel the 24 month contract deal as I could get prepaid at R349 of the same amount of data. To my shock to be informed that Vodacom had already cancelled deal, taking into account that my last conversation & contact with Vodacom was their will arrange to have it resent to the farm address, What a ****** shock & at the same time an eye opener to Vodacom's poor customer service.

All this contract deal did for me was to have my ITC rate to take a knock because of Vodacom's enquiry into my financial affairs, something that can't be undone!

Their anywhere in South Africa does not apply to farm addresses that is not anywhere in South Africa. They are not transparent about their prepaid products.

Issues three, and not really related to this complaint but still Vodacom is their poor service to the farming community of the Vredefort Dome, they have two cellphone towers servicing the Vredefort Dome, both of these towers are off more than they actually work, again try getting ahold of someone in charge, it's again a case of management hiding behind the call center agents. We had one instance where our only means of communication with outside world was cut off by Vodacom's incompetence for over 96hours. Their technical after I finally went through a friend at Vodacom in Cape Town, was we know we need to upgrade the towers. Well nothing has happened since so it is clearly not a priority to them.

Thank you Vodacom after being a Vodacom customer from the days of my first brick of a cellphone the Siemens S4 to my current prepaid number all in all 30 years of support for Vodacom, I'm truly consider another cellphone provider, only problem is they have the upper hand as they are the only cellphone tower provider in the Vredefort Dome. But apparently Cell C uses their towers, not that moving to Cell C on a Vodacom tower would change the reliability of the tower network but it may result in better service, wishful thinking on my part.

All in all thank you Vodacom for 30 years of profiting & no service!

Don't make me laugh, a consultant will make contact to assist, that is all a smoke screen to say we will do absolutely nothing as usual. I won't hold my breath.

I didn't even mention the Vodacom stores in Mooiriver Mall, a day after a new special starts saying sorry out of stock on that prepaid router @R399 but that this one instead @R999. I ended up buying the router at Edgars minus the data offered by Vodacom.
