Vodacom phone app

Thank you Vodacom: you have made your phone app completely useless to me. Worked perfectly before you messed it up.

Start up the app. Have to log in now with phone number. Then it asks for OTP. I have two numbers with Vodacom – a phone sim and a data sim. The OTP goes to the data sim (not my choice, Vodacom’s choice because they see the data sim as my main line). So, I have to fire up my computer to get to log into the router to get the OTP.

Let’s go to the settings and activate the “save details so you don’t have to log in again” feature. Vodacom to the rescue! The feature does not work. Still have to log in with phone number.

Back to the settings and activate the “finger print” feature. Guess what? It does not work! Back to square one. Log in again!

I do a bit a travelling and my desktop naturally does not go with me. So, on the road the app is pointless to me and I might as well uninstall it.

Maybe Vodacom will suggest throwing my desktop computer into the ******* bin and getting a laptop. That will solve everything.

A while back DSTV did the same thing. No, it’s to make it more security conscience. The kids you see, they might get into the app and watch all the **** and violence on DSTV. Long story short: a few weeks later the app was back to “normal.”

Good day,

I managed to make the changes you suggested. They worked fair enough. Over the phone I was told the app would pick up the OTP in the sms by default. This did not happen and I have to manually enter the OTP once I go to messages and see it. Not good. This way of using the app is a nuisance. I'm sure you will get a fair number of complaints.

Let's hope you can implement the fingerprint login soon.

Where I live you are the best provider. Lucky you. Should I ever move to an area where another provider is your equal or better than you, I wouldn't think twice about dumping you.

Have yourselves a good day now.
