Vodacom penalizing customers for their own incompetence.
My internet contract was due to expire on 27 Dec 2020. I called the *** call centre twice in Nov 2020 to ensure my contract will be cancelled. Both times I was assured it will be cancelled. On Jan 4 2021 I noticed the contract is still active and called *** yet again. I explained my situation and the agent referred the call to her supervisor, after a while they listened to calls from Nov and apologized that the contract was not ended and promised that on Monday I will receive a sms to say the cancellation was done. Yet over the last 2 days nothing was done. I attempted again to contact the call centre but only got an option for a call back - which I never received. So I tried contacting Vodacom via their Facebook page and direct messaging. Got a quick response and after all details and info was given I was informed this morning that the contract will only now be cancelled at the end of this month and I need to pay yet another installment. I cannot / will not pay another installment just because they did not do the cancellation on time. Consumers must stop being held liable for Vodacom's incompetence. This is just a ploy to get more money from consumers unnecessarily. I did my part by calling them twice to ensure the contract must be ended but yet I must pay another month for something I don't need??? The only option will be for me to block the debit order if this is not resolved.
