Vodacom penalize you for ending contracts!
I gave notice on four lines on contract after more than 10 years as a customer. My plan was to convert to prepaid and fibre services to minimise the family's data expenditure. I installed a fibre line at home and accessed only wifi at my office during the day.
The last (contract) invoice arrived via email and my data charges on one line had increased from R 132.00 on one line to a R 921.00 data charge. I contact the billings department frequently to dispute this amount. Nothing happened. No one got in touch with me. When Vodacoms debt collection department started calling, I explained the situation and asked them to intercede and short our an astronomical charge given that I had wifi in my office, a data limit on the line and accessed home wifi in the evenings. Nothing happened. Vodacom handed me over to a debt collection agency who now email, sms and call me day and night. I have explained the same problem to them. I have repeated requested a breakdown of the data charges so that I can refutre this amount. To date, neither Vodacom nor their debt collection agency have bothered to engage in a conscientious and responsible manner. Vodacom penalise you for ending contracts. My rights are being infringed and I am being hounded and threatened by a debt collection agency.
