Vodacom PayPal OTP 2 Factor Authentication 2FA
Vodacom don't send out the Pay Pal OTP for 2 factor authentication. If you chat to Vodacom they tell you it's not their problem. They are the only carrier to not send them out MTN and the others do so be warned if you want to activate the additional level of security with Pay Pal make sure you have a MTN or other carriers' cell no as an option in pay pal BEFORE you activate it or you won't be able to access your Pay pal account. It's a nightmare I had to eventually phone Pay Pal at huge cost to myself and get them to deactivate the 2FA. I was on the verge of porting my number to MTN just so I could receive the OTP (one time pin). Vodacom are resulting in me not receiving the best security for my Pay Pal account. The 2FA worked fine till about December 2023 then it stopped working, Vodacom please google "vodacom paypal otp issues"
Dear Ion Williams, With regards to your query with ref number ***. Please go to paypal.com, by default it should revert to /za/ and show SA badge at bottom of page, Click badge at bottom to switch to UNITED STATES, then click login, now on user/pass page, you should see US flag at bottom, log in. Regards, Vodacom Billing Team
This does not work Vodacom please go create a PayPal account activate 2FA and use a vodacom no for the 2FA you will see it doesn’t work. You can change it to any country you want it still sends you a OTP that you cannot get to log into your account. Please stop giving this bad advice to customers.
