Vodacom Overport City

I purchased 2 LGV20 Device from Vodacom Overport City/ the Atrium on the 9th December 2016 cash and not on contract. 14 days later on the 23th December 2016. one of the devices which belong to my disabled boyfriend, started to show problems, calls were distorted and the speaker had obviously malfunctioned.

I must make this very clear I had made plans for the Christmas weekend and was not at my residence, So I tried several times to call the Vodacom branch at Overport city, it just kept saying the number is not available so I assumed that they were closed for the Christmas weekend. I also went online to check the number.

Even though I still tried to call them on the 24th, the 26th and the morning of the 27th. Still not available. So I got fed up and did the next best thing and called the Pavillion branch for assistance they told me to come in so I did. I explained to them the issues I was having and that I could not get ahold of the Vodacom Branch in Overport City.

They advised me to then go to the branch at Gateway, as the Owner of the gateway branch also owned the Overport city branch. And they also told me not to accept a repair. As the phone was not that old and it seemed to be a hardware failure.

My Boyfriend and I took an uber all the way to the gateway store, where we were told that we could not get a new device and forced us to accept a repair. I even talked to the manager and he said the same thing.

Shortly after the new year I went to the branch in Overport city to find out why no one answers the phone only to hear from Bilaal the manager that the number was changed shortly after we bought the devices.

After being insulted by the manager and having various arguments with the staff including Nadine and Beryl who are trying to lay the blame of this whole situation at my door and trying to pass off a different opened LGV20 device from their repair centre as a new device. These devices are shipped from overseas in Factory sealed packaging so as to prevent tampering, I paid for a sealed device and that's what I intend to get.

They keep saying that they had updated their contact details online and I should have brought the phone into them. So I went online and did a google search, all the top google results for the Vodacom store at Overport city/ the atrium show the number that is no longer in use. I also took screen shot of the website listed in the top search results as evidence of the types of general dishonesty, I have had to deal with.

All I hear from these 3 individuals, is lies and delaying tactics and bad service. Nadine, Bilaal and Beryl have provided the most dishonest, poor service.

If I cannot get a factory sealed LGV20 or some reply from vodacom on why their store provide such poor services and blame honest hard working people for their mistakes, I want my money back for the faulty device.

I am bitterly disappointed and If I do not get some reply soon I will contacting the consumer good and services ombudsman.

Lastly, I would like to say that my boyfriend is seriously disabled and needs a phone to keep in contact with me, and for emergency purposes and since all of this with Vodacom he has not been well. Who is going to compensate us for our costs, phone calls, time and inconvenience from all this. The man cant even do his banking online with fnb because he cant verify his transaction via the fnb app.

We are no forced to go into a fnb branch to sort out so payments we could have done online all because Vodacom Overport City is completely incapable of being upfront and honest.

Manager BILAAL, employees NADINE AND BERYL are completely ***********. And I requested to speak to the owner as of yet I have not heard from him or her.

I cannot believe that Vodacom take your money with a smile but when you have a problem make every excuse in the book to basically rob you of your rights as a consumer.

WORST SERVICES AND PROBLEM RESOLUTION EVER.

Hi

I will be waiting for someone to contact me, I have been waiting to hear from Malcolm from the repair centre, he has not called me.

I wait to get phones calls from Vodacom Overport city, they don't even bother, I have to call and email them and take time out of my busy day to go into their store.

As I have said I have a seriously sick person who needs a phone, if my boyfriend was healthy and had no physical disabilities I will have been willing to wait.

I hope we can resolve this matter before the end of this week.

Regards

Yet another day has passed, no phone, no word.

UNBELIEVABLE!

I keep saying the same thing, my disabled boyfriend needs a phone, what part of that does VODACOM not understand.

My boyfriend and I have already been to the regional office on Wednesday and still we haven't heard anything.

I just wonder what needs to happen for Vodacom to take this issue seriously, a sick man is sitting without any means to contact people because of the incompetence and just down right dishonesty from the staff and a Vodacom branch.

Not to mention he had to switch to a nano sim which is not compatible with any cheap cells, So he has to struggle like that.

This matter is just going on and on.
