Vodacom Overbilling & Unauthorised Contract – CPA Violation
In May 2022 we upgraded to two iPhone 12s and two Apple Watch 7s on a 36-month contract. Immediately after paying, Vodacom blocked our account claiming arrears of ±R16 000.
After months of confusion, we discovered the consultant added an extra Watch contract we never requested or approved. This created the false arrears and ongoing billing issues.
Now, in Nov 2025, we realised our contract should have ended already, yet Vodacom insists we must pay until March 2026. This means we have been overcharged for months.
This violates the Consumer Protection Act, including:
Section 14 – charging beyond the agreed contract term • Section 19 & 20 – inaccurate billing
We’ve paid far too long due to a Vodacom error, and we expect urgent resolution.
