Vodacom Online Sales (Poor service & restrictive policies)
Vodacom Online Sales Failed Order Cancellation, Call Avoidance, and Request for Call Recordings
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the inexcusable service failure and the subsequent professional misconduct I experienced on 6 March 2026. I am currently being held hostage by "red tape" that prevents me from concluding a deal in-store because an online order—which was canceled prior to delivery—remains "open" in your system. I sent a cancellation email mail tl your VAPPS department to cancel the open order & still with no response nor any way to make contact with your administration department.
1. The Core Issue: Systemic Inflexibility
On 1 March 2026, I placed an online application. My intention was change the handset to an S26 Ultra with a watch, however, your online sales platform was technically unable to facilitate this addition. To resolve this, I was forced to cancel the online order prior to delivery via RAM Couriers (Waybill: K***) and visit a physical store to complete the transaction correctly. Despite RAM confirming the return of the device, your system has failed to update my profile. I am now an approved customer standing in a retail store, ready to commit to a higher-value contract, yet unable to do so because your internal processes lack the agility to resolve a simple status update.
2. Accountability and Emotional Upheaval
Beyond the technical failure, I am formally complaining about the gross lack of accountability and the absolute indifference shown by your staff.
The "Pillar to Post" Experience: I have been sent from one department to another with no one taking ownership. This "run-around" is a blatant display of a culture that does not care about the human being on the other end of the line.
Emotional Toll: The sheer frustration of making nine (9) separate calls if not more, only to be met with apathy, has caused significant emotional upheaval. To be treated as a nuisance for a problem created by your system is insulting.
Call Avoidance: Multiple agents intentionally dropped my calls or transferred me back into the general queue. This is not "technical error"; it is ***ardice and a deliberate attempt to avoid assisting an irate customer.
Failed Leadership: A Team Leader promised a call-back within two hours; that deadline passed without any contact. Before 5:00 PM on a Friday, not a single manager was "available" to assist.
3. Formal Request for Information
Under my rights as a consumer, I hereby request the following information extracted from your call logging and recording systems for all interactions on 6 March 2026:
Transcript/Recordings: A full log of every interaction associated with my number.
Accountability: The names of every agent who disconnected my calls or initiated a "blind transfer" back into the queue. Action must be taken against these individuals for breach of duty.
Audit Trail: Documentation of the failed call-back promised by the Team Leader.
Resolution: Immediate manual intervention to close the pending online order so I may proceed with my in-store purchase.
Closing Statement
It is alarming that a mobile network of this size lacks a "customer-centric" override. You have an approved customer who wants to spend money with you, yet you have made the simple act of getting a handset a traumatic experience. I expect a response by Sameera and her direct Manager as soon as possible to engage in these issues and confirming that my profile has been cleared.
I have not received a solution to any of this besides staff just repeating the process and no call backs to a solution
