Vodacom Online Order Fiasco - Complete incompetence

Placing a online order for a new contract on the Saturday 1st of February 2020, everything went quite smoothly until Wednesday the 5th when delivery was supposed to happen. The delivery address provided at the time of the order was completely ignored, this was noticed when the SMS from the courier's came through.

I preemptively called Vodacom to resolve the issue, the courier company phoned me to confirm the delivery, still with the incorrect address, so I updated the address with them as well.

I followed up with Vodacom on Friday the 7th where I was advised that the person who assisted me on the 5th was not from the correct department and nothing was done on the order. This person updated the information on the system and advised that they would be updating the courier company as well.

Come Tuesday morning the 11th, I had still not heard anything about my order and followed up again. At 10 A.M. I spoke to a representative at the after sales team who gave me an assurance that my delivery would be happening that same day. I thanked her and waited.

At 1 P.M. I still had not heard anything from the courier company and phoned after sales again, this time being given a different story that the device was booked into the warehouse on the Monday and that the person that I spoke to never confirmed with anyone what the status of the delivery was, but made an assumption as to the fact that I would be getting my delivery on the day.

Further more they could not tell met when the device would be delivered nor could they even commit to having the delivery done in this week, taking into consideration that thew original order was out for delivery after 3 business days, they could after 3 business days of knowing about the issue not ensure when the delivery would actually happen.

Vodacom is just completely unwilling to be of any real help in a situation that they created. I could think of a multitude of ways that this issue could have been solved, yet they choose to hide behind incompetence and "procedure"
