Vodacom Online disappointment

Can anybody please advise?

I have app**** for an upgrade on my existing contract, using the mobile app of Vodacom on 07 September 2018. The following option was available on the mobile app, when I selected the Huawei P20:

• 1GB free data for 24 months • Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro Small (Black) • uChoose Flexi 60 Price plan contract • Samsung Galaxy J4 (Black) • Free R10 000 Top Dog Educational Voucher • This was on the “Red Select+” package.

When the delivery was done, I was supp**** with the incorrect “extras”, therefore I did not accept the goods and therefore also did not sign for it. I phoned customer services, however it was indicated telephonically that it was a mistake and that it was impossible to receive all of these different brands and/or items on the same deal”. The order was changed by Vodacom as they pleased and not according to their adverti*****t, therefore it now appears as if I rejected the goods / upgrade in total, whereas I was just not satisfied that the extras as per the adverti*****t, was not delivered / supp**** to me.

However, it is still as an option available when I go on Vodacom’s mobile app. (I have taken screenshots and saved these for future reference / queries.

In terms of Section 30(1) of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) this constitutes as bait and/or false advertising.

Should Vodacom fail to provide me with ALL of the items at the rates as advertised on the mobile app, I shall have no other alternative but to lodge a complaint with the NCR and the Credit Ombudsman. I trust the above steps will not be necessary and look forward to receiving all of the items as advertised, at your earliest convenience. Yours faithfully
