Vodacom Online - Customer Service Cut of Phone During Complaint
About a year ago I decided to upgrade my current contract with Vodacom after about 15 years with them. After three unsuccessful tries to get upgraded I was so infuriated with spending hours to try and upgrade that I cancelled my contract. Now one year later I, stupid me, decided to give them another try. I signed up for a new contract on 29 Nov 2017. I was informed that I will receive my phone within 3 to 5 working days. A week later I phoned to find out what is happening only to be told that the query will be escalated and I will be called back within 24 hours. I missed a call in the afternoon of that same day and since then no further feedback. I spend about a hour on the phone in week 2 to try and speak to a consultant without any luck. I was logged a "please call me" phone call with their service department indicating that I will receive a call within 24 hours. Its been a week. Today at 10:13 I finally got through after 20 min on hold. The lady told me that my query was elevated and there another department is working with the query. She could provide no further info and while I was still in the process of asking her what I stand to do when she just cut me off. She obviously wasn't in the mood to help me and decided she had enough of me. I still do not know when my phone will be delivered and am shocked at the service from the service desk. I expect her to hear me out even if I became upset, which I did not. I so hope that I can get the recorded phone call to put on social media just to show the level of tolerance that Vodacom has for its clients. I will definitely lay a complaint with ICASA/the ombudsman on the grounds of activation of my contract.
