Vodacom Online Contracts
Our town does not have a Vodacom outlet, the nearest one is 150km from me. So, I decide to do an online application online for a Vodacom Contract for a birthday present. I did this on the 18 May 2021. I got a sms stating that it has been approved (for Apple SE Red online showed it was in stock). On the 22 May I still haven't heard anything from Vodacom.
That weekend I did go the Vodacom outlet and the gentlemen said that the contract was cancelled. I was stunned. So, he gave me number which I called and asked what happened. Apparently, they didn't get my relevant documents, I said well I didn't get any mail or anything asking or telling me that this would be cancelled. This was my first time applying for a contract at Vodacom.
So, I ask the representative can I make another application instore then, she said YES. To my surprise when I went to that Vodacom outlet it was 12:50 and they close at 13:00 so the gentlemen said that he can't do anything because the system gives him error. (What errors I don't know) after explaining to him I am not from there he would make any effort to help me, but he said that I have to come back the next day so he can see if he still gets an error :( . So, I went back home. The 23 May I did another application ONLINE after contacting the Vodacom Outlet asking if he has made any progress and still according to him there was an error.
Again, I got the message stating that the contract was approved, and I choose the Apple SE 128g R399 p/m) which also showed in stock. I then got a mail asking for the relevant documents and I send it. I got an email back stating that they did received the documents. However, on the 25 May – 4 June I had to make numerus phone called regarding my application and seeing that I did 2 applications I have 2 profiles which confuse the representative a lot. Because when I call, they say the contract was cancelled then I must explain this whole story every freaking time. When they finally get my profile, they say the phone is out of stock. The when I phoned again on the 4 June, the gentlemen told me that someone had to call me to read me the terms and conditions. So, I told him that was read to me and I agreed so I need to speak to someone the help me right now. I got hold of someone whom tried to help me regarding my problem. She checks which phones was in stock and gave me options. Obviously, the Apple 11 was R200 more expensive but at this stage I didn’t have a choice because it’s a birthday present, so I agreed tot the term and conditions. By now the birthday has passed and still I have no phone, which is ridiculous.
I phoned again today asking about the order they said it’s at dispatched. So again, no answer regarding wdf is happening.
So, I am so annoyed think of cancelling the contract. How can an order take more that a week to be completed and why do I need to phone every single day asking what’s happening? I have been a Vodacom Prepaid customer for as long as I can remember and the first time, I am applying this is the service I get. This is unexpectable. So personally, I think I need to take my business elsewhere, because Vodacom doesn’t care about new business.
